"Gossip Sells the Goods"

Some shops have celebrities that shop there regularly. Some advantages that the store would have, would be that if people found out that a certain celebrity shopped there, most people would think oh since ____ shops there, then if I shop there I will look as cool as they do. If a celebrity shops at a store and they wear a logo, then the store is getting a lot of publicity, because if the star gets a picture taken with that logo on their body, then everybody who sees that picture sees the logo, and will see the star wearing it.

Sometimes people think that when a star is being paid to wear a brand name article, and promote their products, that it is wrong. This is because they might not even like the products, but they are getting paid to wear them. They think that is bad, even though it is good for the stores and companies because they are spending money on these celebrities to wear their clothing, but they are getting advertisement in return, so in their eyes it is a darn good trade off.

Celebrity endorsement helps boost retail sales because, if people , especially younger children, see their favourite singer or actor wearing something they like then they will want to go buy it. They will get sucked into the idea that since they are wearing it that they will look like them, or be "cool" just like them. They believe what companies who use celebrities as spokes people want them to think. They want to think that since a cool famous person is wearing their clothes, that if you want to be famous, or look famous then you will buy their clothing too. When in fact, the celebrities don't buy their clothing. They are usually just given to them for advertisement and publicity.

Celebrities have become part of the business plan and business model because what celebrities think and do affects stores and retail sales. Some restaurants make their places based on a famous star or what celebrities think. Which, is not good, because then it might not e suitable for anybody else. Other normal everyday people might not be able to afford it.

I think that if companies want to use celebrities to help boost their sales rate, go for it! If they want to have a famous star wearing their clothes let them. Usually people with brains don't think that buying the same clothes as their favourite star will make them cool, or look like them. If people buy things usually, hopefully, it is because they like the style, look and maybe fit. Not because some dumb star is wearing it because a company gave it to them for free. Sure, maybe you saw a celebrity wearing something or using something, and you think oh that looks cool, or I really like that, it's because YOU like it. Not because of who is wearing or using it. I personally, will buy something simply because I like it. I don't care if a famous star is wearing something, that is defiantly not going to make me go out and buy it. I'm not dumb, and I am defiantly not going to see someone wear something and go and buy it. Because me wearing it or using it, is not going to make me as popular, or look the same as someone. That's just common sense.
